Curated By displays documentation images from an array of art institutions and museums with a voice announcing different attributes used to describe their curators, as automatically scraped by the artist to extend his personal art world database with curatorial information. The script used by the artist attempted to extend his art world database with curatorial information by automatically Googling ‘Exhibition Title + Institution” and looked for the following words after the keyword ‘Curated By’. Often this resulted in the correct curator, but sometimes these curator’s names are augmented with attributes such as curated by the brilliant or curated by the contemporary. The video shows a selection of these attributes set to the image of the institution/gallery and exhibition that was used in the scraping process.
